Giving to the School of Music
At the KU School of Music, private donors play an increasingly crucial role in building an environment where students and faculty can maximize their talents. Private contributions provide support for scholarships, endowing professorships, constructing and renovating academic and performance spaces, bringing guest performers and instructors to campus, and purchasing instruments and equipment for KU's various musical ensembles. Take a Seat in Swarthout Campaign
For those who hold a special place in their hearts for Swarthout Recital Hall, the "Take a Seat in Swarthout” campaign provides donors an opportunity to sponsor a seat in the beloved recital hall. With a $500 gift, donors will be recognized with an engraved plaque bearing their name, or someone they wish to honor, placed on one of the 272 seats of their choice. The campaign aims to raise $136,000 for the creation of an endowed fund for the maintenance and upkeep of the recently renovated hall.
Friends of the KU School of Music
The Friends of the KU School of Music are a community of alumni, parents, friends and students who are dedicated to providing annual financial and advocacy support to the KU School of Music.
When you become a Friend of the School of Music, your unrestricted gift will help students and families discover the wonder of music through our world-class educational programs and hundreds of performances each year.
Your loyalty is invaluable in assisting KU musicians in realizing goals that would not otherwise be reachable. It is only through the support of friends like you that we have been able to offer scholarships, graduate teaching assistantships, travel support and professional-quality instruments to improve the musical experience for our students and faculty.
In addition to a free window decal to show your support for the School of Music Friends Program, your membership also grants you recognition in the programs for the year’s concert series. Plus, if you choose to join at the Patron level or above, you will receive tickets to the annual Collage Concert as our gift.
