Alumni Band

2019 KU Alumni Band Weekend is October 25 & 26

Celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the KU Alumni Band during KU's 107th Homecoming festivities! Return to the Hill, catch up with old friends and fellow band alumni.

Please visit the link below to register for the 2019 Alumni Band weekend.  Deadline for registration is Friday, October 18. Note that every individual who wishes to perform must complete the registration form, including spouses.

Alumni Band members who play at the game on Saturday will receive an entry pass to the game at the morning rehearsal.  Passes are only for Alumni Band performers; all other guests will be required to purchase a ticket and will enter the stadium through the normal entry gates.

Requests for KU-owned instruments must be made by the deadline, and will be issued first-come, first-served based on your online registration.  The KU Bands can only provide the instruments listed on the registration page.  Due to an increase in the size of the band this year, we have a very limited inventory, especially in drumline.  Please make every effort to supply your own instrument.  We will notify you in advance if we do not have an instrument for you.  We appreciate your advance planning, as we will not bring extra instruments to the parade, rehearsal, or game.

Homecoming Parade

The Homecoming Parade is Friday, October 25 at 6 p.m. on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence.

Halftime Performance

On Saturday, October 26, the KU Alumni Band will join the Marching Jayhawks for a halftime performance during the KU vs. Texas Tech Homecoming football game. A detailed schedule for the Alumni Band will be available approximately Friday, October 18, after the kickoff time is announced.  The schedule will be emailed to registrants, and posted on the Alumni Band and Marching Jayhawks Facebook pages.

In addition to I'm a Jayhawk, we will combine with the Marching Jayhawks for the halftime performance.  Registrants will be emailed a password to a secure link to download the halftime music (Spinning Wheel and Fire).  We will also have the fight songs and traditional music available at the parade on and at the rehearsal on Saturday before the game.
