BAND 202 Wind Ensemble
Study and performance of literature written for wind ensembles using an instrumentation somewhat smaller than the traditional concert band. BAND 559 Scoring for Concert Band
Curriculum includes idiomatic writing, tonal balance, scoring for large percussion sections, and analysis of wind colors and instrumental combinations found in music of Holst, Vaughan Williams, Grainger, Stravinsky, Hindemith, and C. Study of physical aspects of sound, stressing the production, reproduction, transmission, and reception of musical sounds.
