Former KU professor creates musicology scholarship for graduate students
LAWRENCE - Dr. Daniel Politoske, Professor Emeritus of Musicology at the University of Kansas, recently created an endowed scholarship through KU Endowment for graduate students studying musicology.
A teacher at KU for 27 years, Politoske is now retired and wants to give back to the students he loved mentoring and educating. Over the years he has continued to contribute regularly to this new scholarship fund, one which will provide tuition assistance to deserving musicology graduate students. Whenever he encountered a student, colleague, or friend who explained it was not possible to meet a tough goal or deadline, Politoske loved to say that "anything is possible" if it had a solid and worthwhile purpose.
"I am passionate about raising scholarship funds for graduate students in musicology, and I hope and pray that others will contribute to raise a substantial sum to help students for generations to come," said Politoske.
