KU School of Music presents spring Graduate Honor Recital on Feb. 16

LAWRENCE - Nine students from the University of Kansas School of Music will perform in the spring Graduate Honor Recital. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 in Swarthout Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The School of Music students performing are as follows (listed in performance order):

Katherine Bryant, soprano, is an MM student in voice performance studying with Genaro Mendez, associate professor of voice. She will perform “La Petenera” from La Marchenera by F. Moreno Torroba. Bryant is from Denair, CA.

Brian Allred, flute, is a DMA student in flute performance studying with Sarah Frisof, assistant professor of flute. He will perform Mei by Kazuo Fukushima. Allred is from Plano, TX.

Man Wang, violin, is a DMA student in violin performance studying with Veronique Mathieu, assistant professor of violin. She will perform Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saens. Wang is from Beijing, China.

Mi Ou Lee, piano, is an MM student in piano performance studying with Steven Spooner, associate professor of piano. She will perform Poem by Arno Babajanian. Lee is from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Johnathon Westcott, percussion, is an MM student in percussion performance and music theory studying with Michael Compitello, assistant professor of percussion. He will perform Dances of Earth and Fire, Movement 2 by Peter Klatzow. Westcott is from Copperas Cove, TX.

Jee-Yeun Kim, soprano, is a DMA student in voice studying with Julia Broxholm, associate professor of voice. She will perform Hermit Songs, op. 29 by Samuel Barber. Kim is from Seoul, South Korea.

Wen-Ting Ong, piano, is a DMA student in piano studying with Jack Winerock, professor of piano. She will perform Toccata, op. 155 by York Bowen. Ong is from Berrien Springs, MI.

Louisa Slosar, bassoon, is an MM student in bassoon studying with Eric Stomberg, professor of bassoon. She will perform Recit, Sicilienne Et Rondo Pour Basson Et Piano by Eugene Bozza. Slosar is from Lexington, MA.

Ashley Puenner, mezzo-soprano, is a DMA student in voice studying with Genaro Mendez, associate professor of voice. She will perform O del mio amato ben, Ah mai non cessate, and Amorosi miei giorni by Stefano Donaudy. Puenner is from Crystal Lake, IL.
