KU Symphony Orchestra presents concert with cellist Joshua Roman at Lied Center on Sept. 30

LAWRENCE - The Lied Center of Kansas and the KU School of Music present the KU Symphony Orchestra with Joshua Roman, cello, in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Lied Center of Kansas. The event is sponsored by Dave and Gunda Hiebert.

The concert, conducted by David Neely, KU director of orchestral activities, begins with Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla by Mikhail Glinka and Violoncello Concerto in E Minor, Op. 85 by Edward Elgar featuring soloist Joshua Roman, cello. The program concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21.
