KU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble I, and Symphony Orchestra to present shared concert at the Lied Center on Feb. 6

LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas Wind Ensemble, conducted by Paul W. Popiel, director of bands; Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Dan Gailey, director of jazz studies; and the Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Neely, director of orchestral activities, will present a shared concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Lied Center of Kansas.

The evening will begin with the Wind Ensemble featuring guest soloists: Jon Lewis, trumpet; Margaret Marco, oboe; and Steve Leisring; trumpet. The Symphony Orchestra will then perform, followed by the KU Jazz Ensemble I, featuring Delfeayo Marsalis, trombone.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased at the Lied Center Ticket Office, by phone at 785-864-2787 or online at lied.ku.edu.
