KU Wind Ensemble presents concert at Johnson County Community College on Apr. 8

LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas Wind Ensemble, with director of bands, Paul Popiel, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 8 at Yardley Hall – Carlsen Center for the Performing Arts at Johnson County Community College (JCCC).

Admission is free but tickets are required. Please call 913-469-4445 for information. Funding for the concert series is provided by Reach Out Kansas, Inc., The Law Offices of Smithyman & Zakoura, and The Zakoura Family Fund, a Fund of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.

The program will include Serenade, Op. 7 by Richard Strauss, Un vitrail et des oiseaux by Oliver Messiaen,Concerto for Tuba by Eric Ewazen, trans. Virginia Allen, which will feature soloist Scott Watson, professor of tuba, and Symphony No. 4 by David Maslanka.
