KU Wind Ensemble presents concert at Lied Center on Sept. 26 with guest conductor Zhonghui Dai

LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas Wind Ensemble, Paul W. Popiel, conductor, will present its first concert of the 2014-2015 season at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Lied Center of Kansas.

The program includes Serenade in D Minor, op. 44 by Antonín Dvořák led by graduate conductor Luke D. Johnson and Darius Milhaud’s Suite Française, op. 248 led by graduate conductor Benjamin G. Harper.

The concert concludes with guest conductor Zhonghui Dai, Chief Conductor of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and professor of music at Bejing Central Conservatory, leading the Wind Ensemble in Dan Chen’s Festival Overture and Paul Hindemith’s Symphony in B-flat.
