Jazz Workshop

July 8 - 13, 2018 • GRADES 9-12

Music Camp Jazz StudentsThe KU Jazz Workshop, under the supervision of Dan Gailey, KU Professor and Director of Jazz Studies, is an exciting week of instruction in all aspects of jazz, with special emphasis placed on small group performance. The workshop faculty includes outstanding performers and teachers from around the United States offering personal instruction in jazz improvisation, combos, big band, jazz history, and jazz theory. Student and faculty concerts and jam sessions offer students at all levels the chance to perform and grow in improvisational, small group, and ensemble playing. The workshop is open to students entering 9th - graduating 12th grades.

We will keep the 2016 Handbook posted here as it provides basic information that will be retained for 2017.  The 2017 Handbook will be posted here in May and emailed to camp participants.
