KU European Organ Study Tour II:
France, May 25 - June 6, 2005
For fourteen days in the summer of 2005, students, alumni, and friends of the KU Division of Organ and Church Music traveled throughout France seeing many of the great cathedrals, playing and hearing wonderful organs, and spending time at some of the leading tourist sites in France. The instruments included examples of French organ building from the Baroque era to the 21st century, with an emphasis on the French Classic era and Cavaille-Coll.
Added attractions included Omaha Beach, Sunday mass at Solesmes, tours of Versaille and Chartres, along with four days in Paris. The group also experienced liturgy in the loft at Notre Dame with Olivier Latry and at Saint-Etienne-du-Mont with Thierry Escaich.
